Biography
Mr. Schaefer received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1979 and his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1985. He is licensed to practice in New York and is a member of the Florida Bar. Mr. Schaefer is admitted to practice before the United States District Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York; the United States Court of Appeals for the Second the Third Circuits; respectively, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Schaefer has lectured extensively on a broad range of topics concerning labor and employment law. He was a contributing author to the First Supplement to the American Bar Association’s treatise, “Discipline and Discharge in Arbitration”. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section). He has previously served as a member of the both the Board of Directors and the Judicial Screening Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association and has also served as co-chair of its Labor and Employment Law Committee. He has also served as an officer of the Suffolk Academy of Law; the continuing legal education branch of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
