Call For a Consultation
Lisa Giunta-Popeil joined the Firm in 2022. A seasoned litigator with over ten years of experience in both trial and appellate courts, Lisa maintains a broad general commercial litigation practice. Her matters have included breach of contract actions, disputes between shareholders, corporate dissolution proceedings, commercial arbitrations, commercial mediations, business tort actions (including misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of restrictive covenants, deceptive trade practices, fraudulent conveyance and breach of fiduciary duty), creditor’s rights litigation, securities fraud litigation and litigation involving alternative financing arrangements, including factoring and merchant cash advance transactions. Lisa works with her clients to develop thoughtful and comprehensive litigation strategies that are specially tailored to their specific legal needs.
Lisa also offers ADR services with a focus on commercial matters. Her vast commercial litigation background representing both plaintiffs and defendants well positions her to assist parties with resolving their disputes in a way that is often more cost-effective and streamlined than traditional litigation. Whether through impartially and effectively guiding parties through the mediation process or by efficiently and thoughtfully overseeing their arbitrations, as a neutral, Lisa helps parties reach flexible and creative solutions to their conflicts.
Lisa currently serves as the Vice Chair for the Nassau County Bar Association’s ADR Committee and is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section (including the Section’s ADR in the Courts Committee and Mediation Committee) and the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section (including the Section’s Alt Dispute Resolution Committee and Commercial Division Committee). In addition, she is a member of the New York International Arbitration Center and New York City Bar Association.
Lisa received her law degree from Columbia University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University. Prior to joining the Firm, Lisa worked for a boutique commercial litigation firm on Long Island and completed a clerkship with the Honorable Arthur D. Spatt of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Lisa is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
