The Firm commenced suit on behalf of a yoga studio to recover unpaid rent and additional rent from its subtenant, a management company for a multisite surgical practice, and the sublease guarantors. The Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Nassau granted the Firm’s motion for summary judgment awarding the Sweat Factory $396,754.00, with interest from March 1, 2020, together with costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees. The Court also dismissed the management company’s counterclaims related to alleged water and mold issues at the subject property, which purportedly caused damage to the management company’s physical space, equipment, and business in the form of lost profits. This decision underscores Weiss Zarett’s commitment to achieving successful outcomes for its clients through strategic advocacy and effective and efficient representation. The Firm is proud to have secured this favorable result and remains dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of its clients in complex commercial disputes across a variety of industries.
