Biography

Claunick (“Nick”) D. Duronville is a Senior Associate in the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Duronville represents domestic and multinational corporations, global financial institutions, and business entities in complex commercial litigation, financial services disputes, and high-stakes real estate transactions across state and federal courts. He manages all phases of sophisticated civil defense and commercial advocacy, including initial pleadings, extensive motion practice, advanced electronic discovery, and settlement negotiations. He also advises on complex commercial contract drafting, negotiations, and deal closings. An experienced trial attorney and strategic advisor, he has successfully conducted trials as first chair, overseen post-judgment and appellate strategies, and directed complex dispute resolution conferences and mediations to mitigate operational risks for enterprise clients.

In 2026, Mr. Duronville joined the Firm after serving as a commercial litigation associate at the Am Law 200 firm Quarles & Brady LLP. There, he represented Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and major public utilities in complex commercial and financial services matters before state and federal courts, as well as domestic and international arbitral forums. Prior to private practice, Mr. Duronville served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge Tanya Walton Pratt in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. He also previously served as a Supervising Attorney in the legal division of one of New York City’s largest social service nonprofits, where he obtained high-profile trial victories, established precedential case authority, and managed attorney teams across Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Mr. Duronville’s clear-eyed, assertive representation and distinct professional background spanning the public, governmental, and private sectors enable him to navigate multi-layered business disputes while consistently achieving successful outcomes for his clients. He is a graduate of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and Morehouse College.

• Commercial Real Estate Summary Judgment — Successfully obtained a $1.5 million summary judgment decision in a complex real estate and foreclosure dispute. The commercial client began proceedings as an Interpleader Defendant; following aggressive litigation and the execution of a distressed asset management strategy, the client became the Plaintiff and senior priority lienholder, ultimately acquiring the commercial deed and property.
• Real Estate Transaction Closure — Successfully negotiated a $2.6 million financing agreement for a commercial real estate client. Managed the entirety of agreement drafting, deal formation, title underwriting management, and closing.
• International Arbitration Defense — Served as lead associate on a complex international arbitration matter before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, France. Successfully obtained a full dismissal of claims valued at $51 million for a global engines manufacturing client.
• Multi-Million-Dollar Arbitration Defense — Served as lead associate on a complex arbitration matter before the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Defended claims valued at over $100 million in a major manufacturer-distributor dispute, successfully obtaining favorable decisions on discrete issues of fiduciary duty and fee awards allocation.
• Asset & Creditor Enforcement — Served as lead associate representing a major financial institution client’s commercial default servicing portfolio in the Midwest. Successfully obtained financial judgments and oversaw all aspects of post-judgment enforcement and asset recovery.
• Appellate & First-Chair Trial Landmark — Conducted successful first-chair trial advocacy in a complex housing matter in New York Civil Court. Obtained a favorable decision, directed the successful appellate strategy, and established precedential housing case law in a landmark decision affirmed by the New York Court of Appeals and profiled inThe New York Times.
